The Perfume Shop Valentine’s Day Campaign

February 2010 - The Perfume Shop, the UK's largest specialist fragrance retailer with 177 stores in the UK and Ireland, is debuting on national TV at Valentine’s - following record sales at Christmas.

WFCA, the full-service advertising agency created, planned and bought the £300K campaign, which is a re-work of the hugely successful Christmas theme: "Our Gift to You". In a retail environment that's still very much centred around giving consumers value for money their half price promotion and great discounts on other Valentine's gifts such as teddy bears and chocolates re-enforces The Perfume Shop's commitment to making gifting easy.

For the TV campaign, WFCA secured award winning production company Intro and up and coming director Camella Kirk, whose other work includes commercials for The Guardian and Citroen. The featured music 'Orbiting Suns' is by Jens Gad, a veteran on the Ibiza chill out circuit.

The 20" ad will be exclusively launched to the entire C4 stable including cut down versions sponsoring Love Week on GMTV. The creative shows beautiful gift boxes forming the promotional message and then exploding to reveal a range of great brands being featured in the promotion with the message 'Fall in love with the amazing offers at The Perfume Shop.'

National press insertions run in the lead up to the event OK, Heat, More, Closer and Look. 20" radio commercials then run in a two week burst on stations including Heart, Absolute and Kiss from February 4th.

Matt Walburn, The Perfume Shop's Head of Marketing, said:
"The successful Christmas campaign proved that our brand offer is pitched perfectly for this tough retail climate. At Valentine's though its not just about great promotions on designer brands, it's about making gifting easy. With the chance to buy other discounted gifts when they purchase any fragrance on promotion The Perfume Shop are a one stop shop for the savvy gifter. National television continues to deliver well for us and we're delighted to include it in the Valentine's media mix."
